Place: Children’s resort centre “Lesnaya Skazka” (Лесная сказка) in Mari Republic, Russia (about 100 km from Cheboksary)

The mission of our school is to provide every child and a student with opportunities which help him/her to grow and improve themselves as a person through access to foreign languages.
There are about 400 kids and adults aged 3 to 70 attending our school and along with paid lessons we provide a lot of free activities
1) Speaking, grammar and vocabulary clubs for primary school kids and teenagers on different topics, speaking club for pre-school kids
2) An intercultural festival called “Taste the traveling” which aim is to present a new country each time through a kind of a quest where kids get to know the culture and history of the country, places of interest, national food etc.
3) Special evenings for adults and teenagers where we present national music and food. Each time there is a different country.
4) We have been organizing international language camps “Language Plus” for five years. In our camps Russian and foreign volunteers collaborate to organize cultural, educational and sport activities for local children and children from nearby regions aged 7-17.
5) Conversation club for students and adults in the cafe free of charge which aims a developing communicative skills in English through speaking activities and role-play games.
The aims of the project:
intercultural exchange;
raising children’s interest in other cultures and tolerance to other nationalities, religions, races;
teaching and learning foreign languages;
discovering and developing children’s creative skills ;
Tasks
To assist in teaching foreign languages to the students,
To assist in organising free of charge intercultural events (see above)
To teach about your country giving a presentation of the volunteer’s native country with the aim to teach the children its history, culture, customs and traditions.
Organizing and together with children taking part in some activities, strategic games, shows and handcrafts.
Free time
Free time for volunteers is flexible. The volunteers are mostly busy in the afternoon and evening. The rest of the day is flexible and free hours depend on the day’s schedule and other volunteers’ schedule.
During the stay you will have an opportunity to visit Yoshkar-Ola (the capital of the Mari Republic) and Kazan (the capital of the Tatar Republic). Also we are ready to give you a tour around Cheboksary at the end of the camp.
Requirements to volunteers
Volunteers must be 18 or older
Volunteers should speak English and/or Chinese at B1 level or higher
Volunteers should be ready to teach their native language and share knowledge about the culture, history, customs and traditions of their country
Experience in with children is a plus but not a must, but Volunteers should absolutely love children =)
Accommodation
Volunteers will stay in a host family or rented flat
