Women’s Health and Reproductive Rights in Nepal
Introduction to the project
Women’s Health and Reproductive Rights in Nepal is a volunteer project to help women and girls in Nepal access quality healthcare and information about their reproductive rights. In Nepal, many women and girls face barriers to accessing healthcare, including poverty, lack of transportation, and social stigma. This project allows women and girls to receive quality healthcare, learn about their reproductive rights, and make informed decisions about their bodies. As a volunteer, you can contribute to positive change, empower local communities, and make a lasting impact.
Statistics of Need
- According to the World Health Organization, 41% of women in Nepal do not have access to family planning services.
- The maternal mortality rate in Nepal is 230 deaths per 100,000 live births.
- Only 54% of women in Nepal have received an education beyond primary school.
- Gender inequality and societal norms often restrict women’s access to quality healthcare, reproductive education, and decision-making power.
